I leave the building, loosen my tie and pull out my car keys. I reach my car and put the key in the hole. Shutting my eyes, I drop my head thankful the long week is over. Nothing but relaxation for the next two days.
Opening my eyes, I spot something on the ground against the tire. I crouch to get a closer look. A silver circle that looks like a ring is around it. I stumble back against a parked car when I realize it’s a human bone.
The car alarm blares as I try not to throw up. I look up to she a cop looking at me.
“Get up,” he says. “You’ll be late for work.”
I stumble out of bed.
