No one knew the place was here. She liked it that way. Tammy wouldn’t have known about the small cave unless her dad didn’t pass a few months ago, and she escaped a house full of mourners. The coolness gave her peace.
“Tammy,” a voice called.
She peeked outside, but didn’t see anyone.
“Tammy,” again she heard.
Faint footsteps were getting louder, as if someone was walking toward her. She quickly crawled out of the hole, and covered it with branches lying on the ground.
