Dream Maker

Lying in bed, I opened my eyes. I don’t know if I was dreaming or not, but there he was, floating above my bed. Warm air swirled around me. I knew I was not in danger.
“Who are you,” I whispered.
“Just call me the Dream Maker. I’ll make your dream come true.” A wand appeared in his hand. “What is it that you desire the most, my child?”
I laid there, and thought for a minute, or two. Not having the use of my legs, there one only one answer. I sat up and said, “I want to be able to walk, and run, and play just like the other kids.”
He wave the wand over me, “It is done,” and disappeared.
I got of bed the next morning, able to use my legs, and walked to the breakfast table. My mom watched me walk for the first time, and screamed, “Oh my God!” She picked me up, and I could feel her tears on my chest.
The Dream Maker came back that night. “You made me walk,” I said, and gave him a smile.
“My child,” he said. “You made yourself walk. I just told you that you could.”
