Short Stories

After Listening to a short interview with Stephen King, I realized that trying to write a novel without having written that many short stories might not be a good idea.  Not to mention that I was way behind my word count for Nano. After a few days of Nano, my word count kept shrinking as the scenes were getting harder to write.  Nano proved one thing though.  I can sit at the keyboard and pound out at least 1000 words a day.  I always seem to not to want to take the baby steps I need to though.  I’d imagine we’re all like that to a certain extent. If I concentrate on short stories I know I’ll get better as a writer, and maybe someday stumble into a novel.
